Bumula Student Stabs Father To Death For Demanding End Term Report Book

Sorrow has engulfed Kibachenje village in Bumula Sub- County, Bungoma County after a form one student (15) killed his father.

Confirming the incident, Bumula OCPD Stephen Obara indicated that the suspect, the minor, a form one student at Lumboka secondary school stabbed his Father on the Chest several times and fled.

“He is at large, our officers are after him, he can run but can’t hide, we are camping in every village until he is apprehended and charged in court with murder,” he said.

The incident which took place on Sunday evening has left neighbours and relatives seeking for answers but in vain.

Obara stated that the deceased Samwel Muchuma (41) had asked the suspect to get him his report book after the closure of schools so that he can look at his performance.

“He instead gave his father the first term report book instead of the current one, when the Father insisted of getting the second term report book, he picked the new kitchen knife he had bought and stabbed him several times on the Chest leaving him bleeding profusely,” he said.

The deceased’s brother Maurice Wechabe stated that they were shocked after he passed on while receiving medication at Bungoma County Referral hospital.

“He had asked his Son for the current report book but he instead gave him the old one, they then picked a quarrel that led the son to kill him,” Wechabe said.

He added, “After stabbing his father the suspect fled alongside his friend who aided him in fleeing the scene of the incident,”.

The body has been preserved at Bungoma County Referral Hospital awaiting postmortem report.
