Ojaamong Tours Busia Stand At 7th Devolution Conference In Wote


Busia County Governor H.E Sospeter Ojaamong today toured the County exhibition stand as day two of the 7th annual devolution conference got underway at Makueni Technical Institute Wote.

The Governor arrived at 11.15 am accompanied by Chief Officer in his office in charge of ICT and Communication.

He was received at the exhibition stand by the Secretariat chairman and Director Communication and Publicity, Winston Mbanda, Other directors Including Dr Allan Ogendo ( County KCSAP Coordinator), Leonard Opollo (Education and Vocational Training ) Catherine Mubweka (ICT), Daniel Opilio (Climate Change) Oscar Odaba (Trade) and Daniel Omuse (Human Resource).

Busia county is exhibiting several products including jack fruit (Ofene), cassava products (flour, chips, crisps, krakies and dried cassava), coffee (robusta processed coffee and sundried mbuni coffee), Fish ( smoked tilapia, nile perch and dried tilapia (obambla), bamboo products (seedlings and variety of products) and Nasewa fish feeds (040 feeds).

President Uhuru Kenyatta is expected to officially open the conference tomorrow in the event to be attended by among others, Deputy President William Ruto, former Prime Minister, Raila Odinga and Defence Cabinet Sectetary, Eugene Wamalwa.

Kwale County hosted the inaugural Devolution Conference in 2014. Kisumu hosted the second in 2015, Meru (2016), Naivasha (2017), Kakamega (2018) and Kirinyaga (2019). No hosts in 2020 due to Covid-19 pandemic.
