Nine governors including H.E Sospetee Ojaamong (Busia) today attended the Inter-governmental Budget and Economic Council (IBEC) meeting that was chaired by Deputy President, William Ruto.
Others who attended included Ndiritu Muriithi (Laikipia), Stanley Kiptis (Baringo), Josphat Nanok (Turkana), Paul Chepkwony (Kericho), Anyang’ Nyong’o (Kisumu), Jackson Mandago (Uasin Gishu) and Anne Waiguru (Kirinyaga).
Controller of Budget Margaret Nyakango, Chairperson of the Commission for Revenue Allocation Jane Kiringai, Auditor General Nancy Gathungu and Judiciary chief registrar Anne Amadi were also in attendance.
H.E Ojaamong said his government has received an additional Ksh370millon of its equitable share from IBEC.
The Council of Governors presented an update of total figures of pending bills and what it was doing about having it settled.
H.E Muriithi said whereas some people don’t support the DP’s presidential ambitions, they opted to attend the meeting in order to find solutions to contentious issues.
The council last met in February 2021.
This was the 15th ordinary session of the council that meets twice a year.
