Busia Governor, H.E Sospeter Ojaamong and his Bungoma counterpart, H.E Wycliffe Wangamati declared today that they need direct route to the Government after next year’s general elections and not through brokers.
The two county chiefs who were launching Teso South Women (TESOWO) SACCO at Amukura Grounds in Busia County dismissed calls for luhya unity, adding that the clarion call is for Western region to be in the government.
“We need to be in the next Government come rain or sunshine. Otuoma, Lusaka and myself should seek national posts to pave way for others to take local leadership,” Governor Ojaamong said.
H.E Wangamati took issue with Western leaders who capitalize on electioneering period to advocate for Luhya unity saying they will not succumb to cheap machinations.
“Busia, Bungoma and Kakamega residents should look at who will form the next government but not to be coarced by some individuals who are playing brokerage roll to achieve their ill motives,” he said.
He added, ” Wycliffe Oparanya, Eugene Wamalwa, Musalia Mudavadi and Cyrus Jirongo want the Presidency. These leaders have hidden agenda with an agenda of mortgaging the region,” Wangamati said.
Busia Women representative, Hon Florence Mutua urged Teso South residents to rally behind ODM party leader, the Rt Hon. Raila Odinga who has 100 per cent chance of becoming the fifth president of the republic of Kenya, adding that H.E Ojaamong is the only person who can get a Cabinet Secretary position.
Noninated Senator, Emma Mbura Omtatah said she will use her influence to ensure Ojaamong captures the Teso South parliamentary seat, noting that the Governor has all the credentials.
