Green Canopy and Malaba Giants are winners of respective zones of the Busia Branch League to set stage for bruising playoff to determine the county champions.
Football Kenya Federation Busia Branch chairman, Hillary Musundi said the league which is nearing the end has clear winners of the two zones.
Canopy ensured they are zone B champions after beating Dragon FC from Samia 3-1 in their final match played at Mundika Primary School.
Dragon netted their goals through Peter Oundo, Edwin Athali and Geofrey Ouma who ended the scorer’s chat with 10 goals.
The overall top scorer in the league was Kamolo’s Eugene Okello Omudek with 19 goals. His counterpart Oscar Omusugu was second with 10 goals.
Canopy assistant coach Wilberforce Nyongesa said the team is determined and will be going out with the county championship in mind, adding that winning is the only target.
Malaba Giants with a match in hand are Zone A champions with 37 points from 15 matches, six points ahead of second placed but with also a match in hand.

The club chairman Evans Oduor said his team ended the league without losing a match, compared to their opponents who lost two, exuding confidence of maintaining their clean sheet.
In a statement released yesterday, the chairman revealed that the county champions shall be decided by a playoff between the two zonal champions.
“We may also have teams which took position two in the respective zones playing to determine 3rd and 4th places.
He added: “The Top three teams in each zone will be promoted to the next level , the regional league. This league was introduced after we had commenced our league.”
He said the last three teams in each zone will be relegated to the Sub branch league in their respective Sub branches. Two teams from every Sub branch to join the branch league with the format of play to change.
He noted that all pending matches and cases shall be played and determined before the final table standing released.
