Emotions Run High As An Elderly Woman Is Electrocuted In Cheptais Sub County


The elderly woman died on the spot after stepping on a live wire

Shock has engulfed Tuikut Village in Sasur location, Cheptais Sub county in Mt Elgon constituency after an elderly woman was electrocuted while another man is receiving medication in hospital.

The 61 years old Emily Psongoywo was delivering milk to a nearby church where he stepped on a naked KPLC wires.

Confirming the incident, Sasur Location Chief Jackson Komon stated that during the incident, two dogs were also electrocuted and died on the spot.

The administrator said that one suspect identified as Cleophas Nyoga had connected naked wires on his farm to keep out intruders. He is on the run.

“Such wires shouldn’t be connected carelessly, look here we have lost an energetic woman who never deserved it, let this sound as a warning, anybody who will be allowed to do such a dangerous thing,”.

The woman and the two dogs died immediately after stepping on the naked Kenya power wires.

Already officers from the directorate of criminal investigations from Cheptais have launched investigations that will unravel the puzzle of the death.

This incident has occurred four months after a student who had just graduated at Kibabii university was electrocuted in Kanduyi.

The man had ventured into the boda boda business and had gone to wash his motorbike, he stepped into the water which had wires fallen in it.

He died on the spot hence leading a mother of all demonstrations from boda boda riders who accused Kenya power of negligence.
