Bungoma: Student In Dire Need Of Sh1M To Travel To Spain And Join Valencia Football Academy

A 17 year’s form three student at Chesamisi high school in Kimilili Sub County, Bungoma County is asking for financial assistance to travel to Spain.

Collince Odera is asking for well wishers to chip in and assist him travel to Spain to join a football academy and train as a goal keeper.

Odera, an upcoming and talented footballer needs Sh1 million to join Valencia football academy where he needs to sharpen his playing skills.

The talented footballer who hails from Webuye town needs financial assistance to join the academy or else he would lose out the chance due to biting poverty at their home. 

He says that since his childhood he loved soccer and has played for various clubs something that caught the eyes of the Valencia foot ball academy coach.

“I love football and it’s in my blood, I would wish that some good Samaritans come to my aid, I wish I would join the international academy to sharpen my talent so that one day I would make my country proud,” he said.

He says that he applied online to join the Academy in Spain after one of his coaches helped him do so.

Odera’s mother Rose Akello says her son is talented in football but as a family they are financially drained and can’t succeed in taking him to Spain.

“As a family we are down financially, if somebody could come to our aid, we will be very happy,” she said.

She called on Bungoma elected leaders including the governor, Senator, woman rep and the MPs to come to her aid.

Chesamisi high school deputy principal Joseck Wanyonyi is proud of Odera.

“This is a talented youth, we as a school support talent and as a footballer we have nurtured him amongst others,” he said.

Wanyonyi called on well wishers to help him financially so that he could realize his dreams.

Hillary Kiptalam, Odera’s coach revealed that he is a young talented player who should be exposed to the world.

The coach called on well-wishers and other sponsors to chip in and help him realize his goal.

“Let FKF leadership and the ministry of sports come in and help the boy, he real needs help to travel to Spain, he will carry on with his education as he is trained on how to be the best footballer,” said Kiptalam.
