A Sirisia Constituency parliamentary aspirant Moses Nandalwe has been arrested.

Nandalwe also known as Bungoma’s Mr.Money Bag was arrested for going against the government directive on covid-19.

The government has placed a curfew to 13 counties including Bungoma County from 7pm to 4am to curb the spread of the fourth wave of coronavirus.

The politician who is the closest ally of Central Organization of Trade Unions (COTU) Secretary General Francis Atwoli was arrested on Sunday by Bungoma West CID officers.

He had on Saturday hosted area residents at his village home thus contravening the State directive.

His communication manager Victor Kerre said, Nandalwe has been arrested by Sirisia Police and currently under custody.

“This comes after an instigation from the Political Opponents that he was supposed to be arrested instantly by yesterday.A summon was released by¬† the OCPD Sirisia Sub-County,” he said.

Nandalwe has unsuccessfully vied for Sirisia parliamentary twice since 2013 but the current Mp John Waluke has always defeated him.

The flamboyant and philanthropic ODM politician has been on the forefront helping area voters through sinking boreholes, building churches and feeding widows and orphans.

He has also offered bursary funds to secondary and college students in the constituency to cater for the education of the bright but needy students.

Efforts to get a comment from the area OCPD were futile.
