With barely two months to the U20 World Athletics Championships slated for 17th-22nd August in Nairobi, Kericho County hosted Athletics Kenya meeting to select a team.

The team will represent South Rift in the national trials ahead of the world championships.
Athletics Kenya President Jack Tuwei who oversaw the competitions held at the Kericho Green Stadium thanked the County Government of Kericho for hosting the event.
He exuded confidence with the South Rift team saying the region has always produced world finest athletes.
The event attracted athletes from Laikipia, Nakuru, Baringo, Narok, Bomet and the host Kericho counties.

The highly competitive event was also graced by CECM in charge of Sports Hellen Chepkwony and a section of MCAs.
