The media industry has been thrown into mourning following the death of one of them.
The death of Pauline Ikanda came in as a shocker and left majority of her colleagues in a state of confusion.
She passed on at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret town where she has been receiving treatment.
Ikanda was the communication officer or Bureau Chief with the government owned Kenya News Agency in Kitale town, Trans Nzoia County.
She had previously worked in Bungoma County and other major towns.
“She was a team leader and team player, she was down to earth, I remember her vividly in Bungoma, she was a go getter,” stated Oti Oteba of Horizon News.
Oteba revealed that Ikanda worked very well with Bungoma Journalists and was a team leader who managed to organize press conferences for them with county officials including county commissioners.
Others who mourned her death included the Kenya Correspondents Association Chairman Oloo Janak who described the late as a dedicated scribe who carried herself very high.
“KCA joins the family, relatives and friends in mourning Pauline Ikanda who passed on at MTRH Eldoret. She was the Transnzoia County Information Officer (KNA). Our sincere condolences. RIP,” wrote Janak.
