Sirisia Mp John Waluke has condemned the Saturday’s attack on Kimilili Mp Didmus Barasa by a security aide attached to Bungoma governor Wycliffe Wangamati.

Waluke stated that it was wrong, barbaric and uncivilized for a voter to attack an elected leader.
“This is wrong, even if you differ politically, just respond in a civilized way but not attacking the ejected leader, the incident could have sparked off violence if the legislator had not used wisdom,” said Waluke.

The Jubilee Chairman in Bungoma county also called on security agencies to investigate incident inorder to institute legal proceedings against the culprit to act as a deterrence to such incidences in future.

“It is bad manners for a young man to attack a leader and go Scot free, let him face the law so that he can act as an example to others,” said Waluke.
Drama took place in Kibingei ward during a burial ceremony of Lawyer Saul Wasilwa’s mother where the governor’s bodyguard got annoyed by the sentiments of the law maker against his boss.

At the time of the incident, Wangamati was not present at the burial ceremony.
Hassan Karim was allegedly incensed by the verbal attack by Kimilili Mp over financial misappropriation by his boss.

The law maker had told off Bungoma governor Wycliffe Wangamati over the misuse of public funds released to the county amounting to billions.
“Bungoma county receives Sh12 billion each financial year, we got 9 nine constituencies and there is nothing we are proud of, let him explain how the cash has been used because we have seen no development in the region,” he said.

He continued, “It was a mistake by Bungoma voters to elect Wangamati, he is just but a burden to us,”.

At this juncture, the incensed bodyguard could not hold back, moved forward and pushed the Mp and snatched the microphone from him.
In the drama the law maker was saved by his supporters who cornered the bodyguard and gave him a dog’s beating.

In the viral video the bodyguard is seen trying to defend himself but he is boxed to the ground.
In the video, the law maker calls on the area Chief to arrest him the culprit but later changes his tune after realizing that he might be killed.

The Mp then rescues Wangamati’s goon who snatched the microphone from him and whisks and drives him away in his car.
