Bungoma governor Wycliffe Wangamati’s administration has always run into trouble with the County Assembly leadership.
Assembly leadership has accused him of disregarding the law and doing things haphazardly.
Majority MCAs have fallen out with the county boss and want him held responsible for the mess the county has been found in.
His administration has been accused of purchasing expensive Jerrycans with a 20 litre one costing Sh10, 000.
Despite the irreconcilable difference, the governor has continued to flout the employment law hence putting him at center of anti corruption sleuths.
While appearing on a local fm station, Wangamati accused MCAs of trying to sabotage his administration by trying to stop the employment of Village Administrators.
“I will employ the village administrators are the last grass root group of employees in the county government structure and they are the community mobilizers,” he said.
However, the Assembly’s public administration and ICT chairman Henry Okumu Majimbo says that there are no funds set aside to employ the 236 Village Administrators.
“We shocked by the governor’s utterances which was inciting the public against MCAs, I want to tell everybody in Bungoma that we have no budget at all,” said.
Appearing during an interview on Sulwe fm, Majimbo stated categorically that the committee and summoned Wangamati and the county public service board secretary to shade more light on the employment saga.
“We summoned the duo to appear before the assembly committee on 4th May so that he can be interrogated on this issue that has raised a heated debate,” said Majimbo.
The Khalaba MCA stated that they don’t want youths to be employed haphazardly then they go without salaries just like casuals because there are no funds.
The governor will be interrogated at the floor of the house or the assembly committee chambers.
Interviews for village administrators kicks off today in various sub counties.
