Bungoma based Nzoia sugar FC has completed the signing of two top flight players, Hillary Simiyu and Kevin Wafula from Bungoma Super Stars
Speaking to the press, Nzoia sugar FC coach Ibrahim Shikanda said the duo have signed a five year contract with the Bungoma-based club, adding that he is optimistic that Nzoia sugar will carry the day, at the end of the season.
“My aim is to nurture talents and out of them improve the output of the team. I believe that, with young talents the team is potentially growing to bigger heights” he said.
25 year-old Hillary Simiyu joined Bungoma Superstars FC from Ndivisi United before emerging the division one zone B top scorer in 2018 when he bagged 13 goals.
A renowned playmaker Kevin Wafula 26, had been signed by the club from Kitale based Transfok FC.
According to Shikanda, he chose the duo from Bungoma Superstars where he managed in 2018, and led them up to the semi final of the then Gotv shield tournament before being eliminated by Kariobangi sharks in Machakos.
“Kevin and Hillary have been playing for Bungoma Superstars for a long time , I know their performance very well because they played under my leadership, this is a plus for Nzoia sugar FC,” he noted.
However, Shikanda noted that he included the two debutants in the Saturday’s premier league match against KCB at Sudi stadium
Nzoia Sugar FC are currently 12th in the Kenyan Premier League standing, having won only two matches, and drawn five matches.
