A 2022 presidential candidate Dr.Mukhisa Kituyi has set the record straight on the religion he subscribes to.
The just resigned UNCTAD secretary general had set tongues wagging over his religion.
Kenyans had been left wondering whether Kituyi is a Muslim, a Christian or an atheist.
But while speaking during an interview on Radio Jambo a show hosted by Gidi and Ghost, Mukhisa revealed that he is a staunch Christian who subscribes to the Friends Church commonly known Quakers.
“I have heard and read Kenyans debating on my religion, I want to set the record straight, a man a staunch Christian and I have been so since my childhood, in fact my mother has been holding a position in the Churches Council of Kenya for a long time,” he said.
Mukhisa resigned from the international assignment ostensibly to concentrate in his presidential bid ahead of 2022 elections.
He dismissed claims that he was a Ruto project out to spoil for ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi who has also announced his bid to run for presidency.
“Do Mukhisa look like a Ruto project? Am a leader who has served in many capacities and my bid to run for presidency is a personal decision because I want to save this country from bad leadership,” he said.
The former Kimilili Mp asked Kenyans to support his presidential bid as he will help improve the dwindling country’s economy and ensure that Kenyans no longer suffer.
The ex cabinet minister said that he was shopping for a party that will propel him to the presidency.
“I can’t disclose the party’s name now but be sure that I will unveil it very soon then popularize it a head of 2022 general elections,” he said.
