Busia Governor, HE Sospeter Ojaamong has directed the Department of Water, Environment, Irrigation and Natural Resources to commence the immediate repair of the dysfunctional borehole at  Moru Karisa dispensary in Chakol North Ward.

HE Ojaamong who made a surprise tour of the facility on Wednesday afternoon  was shocked to find no drop of water from the solar powered borehole that his Government sunk in the 2016/2017 financial year.
A resident had told the Governor that engineers who toured the site ascertained that the borehole had plenty of water but needed repairs on broken pipes to restore normal pumping capacity.
Water is pumped into a 10,000 litre elevated tank which subsequently supplies water to nearest learning institutions including Moru Karisa primary school and over 150 households.
” I have directed the County Executive Committee Member in charge of the Department, Dr Isaac Alukwe to ensure that his directive is adhered to,” he told the residents, adding that water is crucial at this era of Coronavirus pandemic.

The Governor also ordered for immediate repair of the maternity Ward’s leaking roof.
The Governor also directed the CECM for Infrastructure, Mr Okwara Ekirapa to open up the roads linking Moru Karisa, Apatit and Aterait areas for ease of communication.
