Civil Society hit out at ODM SG For Fighting LSK President Nelson Havi

The Civil Society in Bungoma has come out guns blazing and hit out at ODM secretary general Edwin Sifuna for undermining LSK President Nelson Havi.

Addressing the press in Bungoma on Saturday, Civil society members Philip Wanyonyi of the Citizens for good governance and Wekesa Lumumba said that it was wrong for Sifuna to keep fighting each and everybody.
“Sifuna should understand that the position he holding is very small.and should not make him to  start looking down upon others,” said Lumumba.
He said that Havi is the president of the professional body like the law society of Kenya and should be respected.

Lumumba said that the altercation between Sifuna and Havi is portraying a negative image towards the Luhya community.
Wanyonyi called on Sifuna to understand his role as a party secretary general but not abusing people but to help the party grow and bring in more members.
“Let him concentrate on his role as a party spokesperson not fighting wars outside the party, he should work in attracting more members not fighting them,” said Wanyonyi.
He said the seat was left vacant by Ababu Namwamba and Magerer Lagat, so he will equally leave that post.
“Let him not undermine other leaders in Western region, he is fighting and dismissing everybody, let him stop it,” said Wanyonyi.

He stated that Sifuna has not done anything in his Western backyard but is busy fighting every leader.
“He has been fighting ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi, his FK counterpart Moses Wetang’ula, his fellow lawyers and local MCAs in Bungoma and has nothing to show for holding such a post,” he said.
He attributed the infighting among the top leadership who are vying for presidency on Sifuna.

“ODM is losing grip in Western Kenya because of bad leadership roles, let ODM management shop for another candidate for the SG position and retire Sifuna,” he said.
Wanyonyi noted that Sifuna should not hold such a position because he is busy fighting each and everybody instead of growing ODM party.
Their sentiments were echoed by a Ford Kenya youth Musa Mohammed who accused Sifuna for fighting every Luhya leader.
“Sifuna keeps despising and looking upon other Luhya leaders, he is swimming in his World, let him realize that the position he is holding can’t sustain him for long, he will be replaced soon and the power disappears forever,” he said.

Efforts to get a comment from Sifuna we’re futile as had not picked calls or responded to messages by the time of publishing this story.
