United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party allied to the deputy President William Ruto is sure of winning the Kabuchai constituency parliamentary seat in the forthcoming by-election.

The win is likely to be the first one in the country UDA having fielded its first candidate.
Speaking after it’s candidate Evans Kakai being cleared by Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission, five MPs started that they will win against Ford Kenya.
Sirisia Mp John Waluke said that they are sure of winning in the by-election by 8am on March 4.
“The contest is between me and Ford Kenya party leader Moses Wetang’ula, we need peaceful campaigns so that each and everyone sells his manifestos,” he said.

Kakai stated that he was happy to have received the certificate to help him in participating in the by-election.
“I will launch a peaceful campaign that is devoid of violence, we need to sell our manifestos without fear of attacks from our rivals supporters,”.
He added, ” Some politicians are planning to unleash violence by attacking him and his convoy, this is instilling fear among voters,”.
Kimilili Mp Didmus Barasa dismissed reports that by voting in Kakai they will be undermining Ford Kenya party.

“I want to tell you that Ford Kenya lost it’s grip in Bungoma and it’s no longer attractive to any politicians and therefore those trying to cause fear will be in for a rude shock,”. He said.
My Elgon Mp Fred Kapondi noted that they are campaigning for Kakai as a group but Wetang’ula is a lone ranger who should be avoided by all costs.
“We will not be intimidated by anybody because we need peaceful campaigns that will ensure every candidate a fair playing ground,” he said.
Webuye West Mp Dan Wanyama called on Kabuchai voters to elect Kakai because he is financial stable and can’t be lured easily.

“Kalasinga can’t be a free man, he will be controlled and swayed by FK party leader Moses Wetang’ula and won’t make any independent decision, let us support our own Evans Kakai,” he said.
Mwambu Mabongah (Bumula) called on Kabuchai residents to elect Kakai because of his manifestos to develop the region.
“Wetang’ula has subjected Kabuchai to a lot of suffering by controlling the late Mp and it is time to correct the anomaly, the correct leader is Kakai,” he said.
Mabongah added, “To end politics of deceit, blackmail and corruption vote for Evans Kakai,”.
