Busia To Offer Accommodation To Afrocities Delegates

Busia County will offer accommodation facilities to hundreds of delegates who will attend the 9th edition of Afrocities Conference to be hosted by Kisumu County later in the year.

The resolution was reached after a meeting of Governors drawn from Bungoma, Busia, Kakamega and Kisumu with President Uhuru Kenyatta in in Kisumu.

Considering the large number of delegates to attend the conference, it was unanimously agreed that Busia, Bungoma and Kakamega counties will offer accommodation to delegates who will miss accommodation in Kisumu.

It’s open knowledge that Busia County is second in hospitality industry after Kisumu. Besides the Aftocities conference, Governors also discussed with the President who was flanked by Devolution CS Eugene Wamalwa on matters infrastructure and health.

Afrocities is the United Cities and Local Governments of Africa’s flagship pan-African event that is held every three years with Marrakech Morocco hosting the 8th session of the conference in November 2018.

This will give provide a golden opportunity to host the continent and show case our investment opportunities.

Busia Governor, HE Sospeter Odeke Ojaamong, saluted neighbouring Kisumu County for landing an opportunity to stage the event which will also help address the challenges facing the continent like the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic that continues to ravage the world with impunity.
