An aspirant for the Kabuchai parliamentary by-election seat will vie on United Democratic Alliance party after ditching an independent ticket.
Evans Kakai who had earlier announced to view as an independent candidate has been convinced to use the newly formed party to contest for the Kabuchai by-election.
The seat was left vacant following the demise of the late Mp James Lusweti.UDA will unveil Kakai and a Matungu by election candidate Alex Lanya.
Matungu and Kabuchai by-elections will take place on March 4, 2021 according to IEBC announcement.
Kakai had earlier on announced to vie as an independent candidate with the support of the deputy president but he convinced to vie on a vehicle that will give him direction in 2022.
Kimilili Mp Didmus Baraza says the two candidates will be unveiled on Friday (Today) in Nairobi.
“They are our candidates, they will be unveiled today before we engage in a vigorous campaigns for the next two months,” said the law maker.
Kakai a former Kenya Revenue Authority board member will face off with a Ford Kenya flag bearer Majimbo Kalasinga.
Others are Federal party of Kenya candidate Amos Wekesa, David Kibiti of green party and independent candidates Peter Kapanga and Gasper Waffubwa.
Kalasinga was unveiled on Tuesday following a vigorous nominations pitting him and his bitter rival Nakuru East DCC Eric Wanyonyi.
Kalasinga won with 70 votes against 32 by Wanyonyi in the party primaries held at Musese CDF offices.
Present was FK party leader Moses Wetang’ula.
A beehive of campaign activities is expected to take place as from January 18, 2021.
