Bumula Mp Mwambu Mabongah is bereaved, he lost his father at Mediheal hospital’s in Eldoret.
Mzee Maurice Mabongah has been battling cancer of the Colon for quite some time.
According to a close family member who asked for anonymity said that Mzee succumbed to his illness at about 12:45am on Sunday December 13,2020.
“We have lost him, he was our family pillar and the man who always offered as good advice on how we must co-exist with other people, he is gone to be with the angels,” he narrated.
Mzee has been admitted in various hospitals in Nairobi before he was later transferred to Eldoret town.
The first time Mp was elected in 2017 as an independent candidate after Ford Kenya denied him a ticket and the high court gave it to his rival Jack Wanami Wamboka.
The legislator is a close ally to the deputy President William Ruto.
He has hosted the DP several times in his constituency, the latest being two on September 27 where he fundraised for inter-denominational churches at Bumula stadium.
Various MPs have sent in their messages of condolences asking their colleague to take heart for the loss.
Among them is the outspoken youthful Kimilili law maker Didmus Barasa who eulogized the late Mzee as dedicated oldman who nurtured his family well.
The shocking loss of Mzee Maurice Mabonga,the patriarch to my Colleague Hon.Mwambu Mabonga has shaken us to our very foundation.
“He was humble, dependable and an exemplary leader of great conscience and conviction who attended to community issues with virtuosity,” he wrote on his twitter handle.
He said Mzee Mabonga was progressive, selfless and committed figurehead whose exceptional servant leadership changed many lives.
“Our sincere prayers and thoughts are with the Mabonga family, the loves ones and people of Bumula during this extraordinarily cruel and difficult time,” said Barasa
