“This is to notify the member’s f Ford Kenya party and the general public that the notice published by Hon.Eseli Simiyu did not emanate from the party and it is invalid,” read the notice.

The leadership wrangles in Ford Kenya Party has taken a new twist after the embattled party leader Moses Wetang’ula disputed the notice by its General Secretary Eseli Simiyu to convene the National Delegates Council (NDC) on November 21.

Wetang’ula in a notice published in one of the dailies states that the meeting convened by Dr.Simiyu is invalid and did not emanate from the party.

“This is to notify the member’s f Ford Kenya party and the general public that the notice published by Hon.Eseli Simiyu did not emanate from the party and it is invalid,” read the notice.

It continues, “ Hon Eseli was suspended from the office of the Secretary General of the party on May 31, 2020 and was also prohibited from transacting the business of the party, the high court of Kenya sitting in Nairobi constitutional petition No.197 of 2020 restrained him from transacting any business of the party,”.

The notice signed by the party leader Moses Wetang’ula, National Chairman Joel Ruhu and the deputy secretary general Millicent Abudho further says that Neither the party Nor any of its organs instructed and or authorized Hon.Eseli Simiyu to issue the notice of October 31,2020 and November 1,2020 as appearing in the Daily Nation Newspaper or in any other Newspaper.

The Notice also says that Neither the party Nor any of its organs sanctioned the convening of the meeting on 21st November 2020 as stated in the said Notice by Hon.Eseli.

Consequently, all members of Ford Kenya party are advised to ignore in its entirety the unauthorized and unlawful purported Notice by a suspended official in the name of Hon.Eseli Simiyu.

Wetang’ula also advised the party membership shall be advised in the due course of the party scheduled meetings.

However, Eseli and the self proclaimed Ford Kenya party chairman Wafula Wamunyinyi has insisted the planned meeting will go on has planned.

The issued a gazette notice inviting delegates for a national conference to elect new officials will help in ratifying previous changes.

The Kanduyi Mp was controversially endorsed by a section of Ford Kenya delegates as an interim party leader following the contested ouster of Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang’ula in June 2020.

The national function would be held on November 21, 2020 at Bomas of Kenya.

The Wamunyinyi-led faction has been making tremendous steps towards holding grip of the lion party ever since they ‘kicked out’ the Bungoma senator about five months ago.
