Bungoma county government has discharged one of the two truck drivers who is confirmed healed of Coronavirus.
The two truck drivers had been placed on quarantine at Webuye sub county hospital isolation centre since they were found to be positive.
Bungoma county health and sanitation minister Dr. Antony Walela confirmed discharging one of the two patients after medical examination showed that he had totally recovered.
Dr. Walela confirmed discharging the patient on his Facebook timeline raising a ray of hope to the disease that has created fear in the country.
Bungoma confirmed the existence of Coronavirus positive patients on May 3, 2020 and they were placed under quarantine at Webuye sub county hospital isolation centre.
“We are happy that one of the two truck drivers has been discharged after being confirmed having no any virus, save journey to Meru,” wrote Walela.
The two truck drivers patients were screened at Webuye Weighbridge and Bitobo screening centre in Kimaeti market.
“They were then examined, blood samples taken after they displayed corona like symptoms, they were taken to Kenya Medical Training Research Institute (Kemri) where they tested positive,” said Bungoma governor Wycliffe Wangamati.
One of the remaining patients is still being quarantined at the facility.
