Kakamega

Bishop Emeritus Peter James Onguko of Christ Evangelistic Church – Kakamega is dead. Bishop Onguko died last night after a short illness at St Luke’s Hospital in Eldoret.
He has left around a widow, Bishop Susan Onguko and several children as well as grandchildren.
Two weeks ago he became sick and was rushed to the Aga Khan hospital in Kisumu where he was treated and discharged.
Last week, he developed complications again and the family rushed him to the Kisumu Specialists hospital.
“The Bishop was not improving as expected and the family opted to refer him to St Luke’s hospital for specialised treatment from where he died last night,” said a close family friend. Bishop Onguko will be remembered for planting many churches in Western region and more so nurturing many pastors in Western region.
